Missionary endeavors
Jesus said to his apostles, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you..." (Matt. 28:18-20). Based on these words of Jesus and many examples of the early church, the Davis church of Christ has a strong interest in spreading the gospel to all nations. During the past few years Bernard Howell, one of our evangelists and a former missionary in Italy for eleven years, trained four of our university students to spread the good news of Jesus Christ. The church provided full suport to two students and partial support for two. The students learned to speak Italian fluently and each one spent two years in Italy. Two lived in Florence and two lived in Bergamo. The Davis church of Christ also supported another UCD student, Brent Parr, as a missionary in Albania. Brent received his MS in electrical engineering at UCD. He spent two years in Albania during which he learned the Albanian language and worked with the youth.
